The Hunter Defence Conference has become Australia’s premier regional Defence event, offering excellent program quality and value for money.

The Hunter Defence Conference is key to promoting regional defence industry capability and presents a strong, unified voice for the Hunter that is heard throughout NSW industry, the NSW Government, and by Federal Government representatives.

HDC2023 will feature a two-day conference, SME exhibition, cocktail evening, and gala dinner – all refined and enhanced based on feedback gathered from previous conferences. Conference proceeds will again enable Hunter Defence to contribute to charities in support of local veterans.

The 2023 Conference topics are work in progress until speakers are confirmed, however the conference themes will centre around:

  • The opportunities for AUKUS in the Hunter: The conference will provide an excellent opportunity for organisations to attend, network and potentially take part in speaking opportunities, to discuss their capabilities directly in relation to AUKUS with Defence Primes and other key players.
  • The impact of the Defence Strategic Review: Defence capability managers representing the major defence projects and contracts will be in attendance at this year’s conference to discuss the local, national and international impacts of the Defence Strategic Review. This provides a ‘one-stop-shop’ for delegates to hear the most up-to-date information in relation to the review, as well as new and upcoming opportunities it will generate for the Hunter.

In addition to the above – and building on the momentum generated at the 2022 conference – the event will continue to demonstrate the ever-increasing SME capabilities in the Hunter, as well as provide the latest updates on a range of Defence plans and projects either underway or new to the region.
